Orbanes (creator of Cartel and many others).

Here's the background information:

Hundreds of millions of years ago... The lands of the Earth are joined in a massive super-continent: Pangea.

It is a time shrouded in mystery. Life ascends. The struggle for survival and dominance begins.

Intelligent species arise as unstoppable geological forces begin to tear the lands apart.

Guide your species in this ever-changing world. Use your guile to weather the storms and cataclysms assaulting Pangea.

Apply strategy to survive and thrive as—one by one—the continents of Pangea separate from Africa.

Dominate Pangea when the final continent breaks free and your species will rule the Earth.

Now, travel two hundred and fifty million years back in time and join in the... Conquest of Pangea!

Players: 2-4
Time to play: 90+ minutes

Created by: Phil E. Orbanes
Launch Date: June 2006

~ P. Soaring above the scene, and amidst its crumbling sites, are powerful birds. Intelligent, determined, cunning and fierce... the two clans of rain forest avians vie for power, for control of the Pecking Order.

What man has lost and forgotten they struggle now to claim. In this place, out of time and out of memory, a fierce battle is about to be waged. You and your opponent will determine the outcome. Victory will come to the clan which best balances strategy, luck, position and guile.

Pecking Order is a simple game with subtle depth. The rules are learned within a few minutes. The first game is completed in less than an hour. Yet, despite this seeming simplicity, each time you play you will learn more about the game, your opponent and what you are capable of.

Pecking Order is the perfect game to “warm up” with prior to playing more time-demanding games. A full game of four rounds takes 30 – 45 minutes; a single round can be completed in just ten minutes. Pecking Order is also suitable for tournaments thanks to its fast play and competitive scoring. Enjoy!

Players: 2
Time to play: 30+ minutes

Created by: Richard Garfield
Launch Date: June 2006

~ P. This is not stuff designed for the mass market. These are games created with an eye towards depth, challenge, satisfaction, and replayability. We're also on the lookout for quality games "across the pond" worth importing.

IEG's launch line-up includes:
Pecking Order (a new game from Richard Garfield, creator of Magic: the Gathering)
Conquest of Pangea (a fascinating game for dominance set in the distant past)

Coming this August (launching at Gen Con):
Terra Nova (a game of boundary building and movement, import from Germany)

IEG is a part of Winning Moves Games (WMG). WMG usually focuses on "classic, retro, cool & fun" games that are most appropriate for mainstream gamers. However, many of us at WMG enjoy all sorts of games, and some of us are life-long players of hobby/designer games. Thus, IEG represents a dream come true: a chance to make games that our friends will (hopefully) enjoy, games that we hope will become a vital part of the modern gaming scene.

The purpose of this blog is to provide an active space for people to read up on IEG and then – most importantly – write in.

So, please, consider yourself invited to chime on in with your thoughts, suggestions, anything you like so long its at least semi on-topic.

Do you like the site? You can check it out at: immortaleyesgames.com.

It's new, so as I first publish this article there's not much there. However, it's all been designed and will be uploaded soon, so bookmark the IEG site and come back to it soon!

Do you like the IEG games? Have you played any yet?

Unless you are a game reviewer or distributor/store owner, you probably haven't seen the IEG games yet. However, that will change in just two weeks when Origins happens in Columbus, OH. At Origins you will have your first opportunity to play our games, and at that time the IEG games go on sale in hobby stores nationwide.

Once you get a chance to play an IEG game, please give us some feedback. Give us the ugly, the bad and the good.

The reason IEG exists – the reason we go to work everyday – is to make games for you, the hobby gamers of the world, to enjoy. If we're not delivering on that goal then we need to get back to the drawing board and incorporate your thoughts into our future game vision.

Okay, the proverbial cat is out of the bag. IEG is here. We hope to see you soon at the game shows and to see your thoughts, here in the blog.

~ P.
